Trips consist
of 10 fish per person or allotted time of fishing whichever comes
first. You must have a valid resident or non-resident
South Carolina or Georgia fishing license.
We will
furnish all the bait, a sufficient amount for each person, and
tackle. There is no hidden cost for you. All
you need to bring is your food, drinks and your clothing
pertaining to the weather. You will also need an ice
chest, large enough to carry a possible limit of 3 to 8 pound
fish. Each boat can
carry a maximum of four persons and minimum of two
persons.
Portman
Shoals Marina is the departure of each boat. The Gas
Dock, which is just beyond the Galley Restaurant, is where you
meet the boat for each trip.
Hartwell Lake
is a Corps of Engineers Project that was completed in
1963. It has approximately 990 miles of shore line and is

cast nets by the Guides.
The prime
season for Stripers is late December through the first of
March. Night fishing is done mostly June, July, August and
September.
The average
size of the Hybrids is 3 to 8 lbs. The Stripers run from
the teens to 35 lbs., with fish in the class of 40 to 50 lbs.
class being caught. The lake record for Hybrid is 20 lb. 1
oz. and Striper is 59 lb. 8 oz.
